My education began at home. My Mom homeschooled my brothers and me from kindergarten through high school. I earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Mississippi, and later finished the two-year program at the Memphis School of Preaching in 2018. My family and I moved to Smithville, Mississippi, where I preached for the Smithville Church of Christ until 2021. We moved to Athens, Alabama, in early 2021 so I could start preaching for the West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.

My education at home and at college heavily featured English and writing. Rather than getting “burned out” by writing, I developed a passion for it. I started a Substack called “Centered on Christ” in October 2021. Since then, I’ve published over 1,000 articles/podcasts on Substack that have been viewed more than 1 million times, and have gained nearly 4,000 subscribers. I’ve also done quite a bit of writing on Medium.

Reading often goes hand-in-hand with writing, and my experience was no different. I’ve always loved to be surrounded by my books. The walls of my office are almost completely covered by books, as well as most of my desk. The table by my chair and my bedside table have a stack of books sitting on them. One of my favorite ways to spend my spare time is to pull a book out of one of my many stacks and start reading.
